Alewife Station

The Alewife MBTA Station serves the Red Line and several bus routes. The station is located approximately a mile from 101 Smith Place. There are several great alternative transportation options for getting to the site from the station. These include the Alewife TMA Shuttle, Bluebikes, or using a personal bike or walking.


Bluebikes

Bluebikes is a great option for travelling between Alewife Station and 101 Smith Place.  It will take approximate 10 minutes (1.5 miles) to ride to the site from the station. At the station, Bluebikes is located outside at Steel Place and at 101 Smith Place, the Bluebikes station is in front of the building. Nemo Bike Roadside Assistance

The Alewife TMA has teamed up with Nemo to offer free roadside assistance for bikers. If you experience a maintenance issue while biking to or from work, school or running errands, you can rely on Nemo's expert bike mechanics to help anywhere within their service area from 7 AM. to 7 PM, Monday through Friday.


Road Side Services Covered

The Alewife TMA covers the cost for Nemo to be dispatched to your location to help with flat tires, chain troubles, brake issues, and other minor repairs. If you need a new inner tube, that's also included at no extra cost. If additional replacement parts or specialized repairs are required, Nemo may be able to provide those to you for an additional cost.

Walking

It is approximately a one mile/20-minute walk from Alewife Station to 101 Smith. Getting around Cambridge by Foot

Biking

Using your personal bike to get to 101 Smith is a 1.5 mile ride and there is plenty of bike parking onsite. Getting Around Cambridge by Bike

Bike Paths Serving the Alewife Area: 

Harvard Station

Located at Harvard Square, Harvard Station serves the MBTA's Red Line and MBTA buses. The station is approximately two miles from 10 Wilson Road.


Two bus routes (#74 and # 78) serve Concord Ave @ Smith Pl.


  • 78 BUS (Arlmont Village to Harvard Station)
  • 74 BUS (Belmont Center to Harvard (via Concord Ave)


Bluebikes is also a great option between Harvard Square and 101 Smith Place.
