Telework

About Work from Home Programs

Working from home is the ultimate green commute. Not only does it remove cars from our clogged roadways, it reduces air pollution and it makes smart business sense for many employers and employees. The Alewife TMA provides its members with resources and tools to assist in creating effective work from home programs.

Resources for Working Remotely

Remember that, whether a telework program is formal or informal, it involves mutual trust between an employee and employer.

  • Why Should I Record my Telecommute Trips in eCommuter?

Telecommuting is one of many green commute modes that qualfiy to particpate in TMA Rewards and Commuter Challenges. Therefore by recording your green trips (or in this case "non-trips"),  you have the opportuinity to win money and prizes just like those that commute by biking, carpooling or taking transit.

  • I'm trying to register for eCommuter, but what is the Member Name or Address? Why do you need this to register?

The "Member Name or Address" is usually your workplace or residential property and needs to be an Alewife TMA member.

By providing the name or address of the Alewife TMA member, it keeps the eCommuter database private to participating companies and organizations.

  • What if my workplace or residential property is not listed?

Please email info@eCommuter.org for technical support.

  • What information is shared?

We take personal privacy very seriously. Your information will never be distributed to other organizations.

Your exact addresses are never shared. The eCommuter database uses your information to geocode two address points (your home and your work) to find potential bicycling partners for you. The results list shows the approximate location of the matches near you, but your exact home or work address will not be visible to anyone but you.

Your contact information is also private. Messages are sent through the eCommuter system so your personal email address and phone number are never shared. Based on your account preferences, users will receive either a text message or email.

  • Why does it say "A Service of TransAction Associates"?

TransAction Associates manages the Alewife TMA and provides over 30 years of transportation consulting experience along with the eCommuter software.
